What in the hell happened to the CoD youtube community!? (Long rant)

Main Post:

Back in 2009, when the biggest "youtube gamer" had 10,000 subs (Hutch), I started making and watching CoD videos. I really loved it. I worked at it hard enough to even get on Machinima (Back when Machinima actually had standards). I could watch CoD videos for hours upon hours. There were guys like SeaNanners who would put out deep commentaries where he calmly shared his thoughts about certain things and mixed in some humor from time to time, all while he taught you how to play CoD strategically, and then there were guys like WingsOfRedemption who would give you tips to make you a better player. There were guys like hutch who would make very personal commentaries (His drug addiction, family issues, etc). What I am getting at, is I feel like the old school CoD video makers made it so you felt a connection to them even though you had never met them.

The entire reason I am even talking about this is because for the first time in about 2 years, I went back on youtube to search for some CoD commentaries and it seems like literally nothing is the same. I have checked out the 20 top CoD channels and LITERALLY all of them are just man children who scream and curse for 20 minutes over some gameplay, or they make some 6 year old kid cry, and then they just call it "LOL TROLLING". Is this really what entertains people now? I think it is because they get MILLIONS of views!

What happened?

I mean hell, even SeaNanners, who I used to watch like it was my job, is completely different now. He went from making those deep personal commentaries over awesome CoD gameplay to making 3 minute "highlight" videos of whatever game he has been playing lately with some audio of him laughing non stop thrown over it.

This is clearly not a case of nostalgia either, I mean just go to any big youtuber and check out their content from 3-4 years ago, and compare it to their content now. There is very clearly a drop in quality, but for some reason, people eat it up.

TL;DR - Are there any "classic" style youtube gamers around anymore? I don't care if they are new to youtube or have been on there since the beginning, I just want to watch some content that isn't some asshole being an immature "troll".

Top Comment: I always felt like it was a drop in maturity rather than a drop in quality. YouTube gaming channels used to be more mature it seems, now everyone tries to appeal to 8-13 year olds by screaming and swearing and overreacting. I personally hate most of the channels now that I come across, but there are still some channels that have the "older" style of commentary.

Modern Warfare 2 leak from 4chan with video

Main Post:

From 4chan https://boards.4chan.org/v/thread/599743606 I work at an Activision studio and get to work on multiple titles. Here’s a snippet from a vid meant for internal use.

DMZ maps have different biomes (forest, desert town)

20-35 players

They’re pouring a lot of resources into DMZ, as many as MP.

DMZ takes a lot from EFT, cuts the clunkiness out. Attachments, ammo types and armor matters.

Weather systems, day/night cycles and modular/prefab areas on maps create dynamic gameplay.

Gunsmith refined. Ex. Folding stock has the ability in-game to fold/unfold at the press of a button, similar to fire select switch.

No surprise, but crunch is awful. Warzone 2 decisions are happening quickly. “Move fast and break things” is unironically the motto right now. Ex. Falling through the map is an issue right now. They’re iterating quickly through ideas and versions. Passion is high, but teams will be running on fumes post-release.

They’re still deciding on whether or not to ditch the “Warzone” name/branding. Despite the brand recognition, it’s also seen as having poor player perception. Some would like to move away from that perception.

Don’t expect a huge graphical leap like we saw with MW19. Blame last gen

Top Comment: I believe I've debunked this, gonna send proof soon. The footage seems to be an out of bounds "glitch" you can do in MW19, hence the low poly buildings. edit: here is the video i made !debunked!
